A Legacy Preserved at Copano Cove Ranch

Preserving Aransas County's Natural Treasures for Our Future Generations

A Legacy Preserved at Copano Cove Ranch

A Legacy Preserved

What a beautiful day at Copano Cove Ranch! On November 13th, we celebrated the groundbreaking of nearly 1,000 acres of native prairie, marshes, and wetlands now permanently protected through an Aransas County acquisition.

Aransas First Land Trust played a pivotal role, identifying this opportunity and facilitating the grant application process, in cooperation with Aransas County staff.

This remarkable project—fully funded by a Texas General Land Office Grant—means vital wildlife habitat conservation, flood protection, and expanded public access for our community.
Judge Ray Garza said it best: “This isn’t just a land purchase, this is a legacy.”

Thank you to Representative Todd Hunter, Judge Garza, GLO Representative Meghan Martinez, Wings Rescue, and everyone who attended. Together, we’re preserving Aransas County’s natural treasures for generations to come!
